Dear Miss,
I wish you good fortune on this Christmas Eve,
As the light falls faster, and the leaves disappear,
when the snow reaches its peak, you know it is at hand,
for a jolly Christmas has come to the land,
Family and friends recall great times of yesteryear,
for soon, it will be the new year.
Merry Christmas to you, and have a great time
Sincerely,
Hikari

A Christmas Poem

The Mettle of America
From shore to shore, when challenges arrive at our door. America's temperament leads towards betterment, forsaken
not by heathens, interloppers nor invader, when times are tough people proclaim enough!
Disregard what media may say, people will find a way forward. When war broke, people enlisted, engines roared,
and manufacturing soared; despite the loss, people came back and on track; the economy soared.
In the 1990s, a great invention came to fruition, a web of information started a revolution, beginning
in the next century, it was challenged by economic realities that led to industry fatalities, when the coast
was clear, people cheered, it all went well until 2008 fell, people lost their jobs, homes and some even lost family,
;yet, overtime people fought this bind; they found a way forward. In the beginning of the 2020s, a new threat
came to the shores, a virus from an unknown land, with its unknown plan. The doors shuttered, people went inside,
those with malevolent intentions made moves; nontheless, school buses deliver meals, found continued on wheels,
teachers took advantage of new technology to educate students, brave men and women continued working:
Driving, supplying and moving logistics, banks provided relief despite the steep setback.
The times will change, but our spirit will not; whatever the challenge, America will face it with mettle.
